Recent Activities

We’ve been very busy with the construction of the children’s program and especially with our work with unaccompanied refugee boys. Under their impetus we expanded the children’s program to include a project intended for grades 1-3 and 4-5: Seidenstrasse: Grundbegriffe der Kultur anhand der islamischen Kultur [The Silk Road: Basic Elements of Culture illustrated by Islamic Culture, see: https://unterwegs-auf-der-seidenstrasse.com/ ]

And they generated some interesting perspectives.

This is the site for the lads (now young adults).

From the beginning they were involved in creating content through their questions and interests.

Two key components were:

  • I need to understand how societies change.
  • I am not just a refugee!

So we are dealing with helping them articulate their identity and develop the skills they will need both to

  • navigate the new society successfully
  • play a role in their own society’s future.
